Early Life and Background

Elisha Owusu Akyaw was born on 21st September 1973 in Kumasi, in the Greater Ashanti Region of Ghana. He was born to Opanin Yaw Owusu Krah and Obaa Panin Akosua Adowah, natives of Jachie Pramso and Esereso respectively.

From humble beginnings, Elisha’s journey reflects resilience, discipline, and an unshakable faith in God’s purpose.


Education and Academic Pursuits

Prophet Elisha Owusu Akyaw is a well-learned man of God who combines spiritual calling with academic excellence. He holds:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Theology
  • Master’s in Church Administration
  • Master’s in Pentecostal Studies
  • Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Philosophy of Religion

His dedication to knowledge is evident in his role as a lecturer and rector at God’s Ministry Academy and Theological Seminary, where he continues to train and mentor upcoming leaders in the faith.


Entrepreneurial Journey

Before entering full-time ministry, Elisha Owusu Akyaw was a successful businessman at Opare Square, where he worked as an importer and wholesaler of electrical cables and accessories. Though his siblings have continued to dominate the electrical business, Elisha embraced his higher calling into ministry.

Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledges that while he could have prospered greatly in business, he values and treasures the grace and fulfillment of his divine calling far above material gain.


Spiritual Conversion and Call to Ministry

On 21st December 1996, Elisha Owusu Akyaw experienced a life-changing conversion under the ministry of Rev. George Enti of Peniel Pentecostal Church at Abeka-Lapaz.

Two years later, he was ushered into ministerial service under the mentorship of Apostle Hackman Quaye, founder of Victory in His Presence (VIP). During this time, he served diligently for two years at Central Faith, then located at Lapaz.

In the year 2000, Elisha founded God’s Ministry Academy, which has since grown into the Authoritative Kingdom Group of Chapels and Ministries (AKGCM), a thriving ministry with multiple branches and leaders.


Ministry and Leadership

Known for his prophetic calling, Elisha Owusu Akyaw has impacted lives across Ghana and beyond. Though an ordained Bishop, he prefers the title “General,” a name he testifies was revealed to him in a divine dream. To him, “General” signifies power, endorsement, and a shortened form of General Overseer.

  • He is the founder of Authoritative Kingdom Group of Chapels and Ministries (AKGCM).
  • He serves as CEO of AKC Media.
  • He has trained over 500 church leaders across denominations.
  • He currently oversees 70 pastors serving under him in various temples and ministries.
